Gritty Bares It All: Philadelphia Flyers Holding Sweepstakes for ‘Nude’ Portrait of the Popular Mascot for Charity

By

Philadelphia Flyers fans have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get their hands on the now famous ‘nude’ portrait of the team’s popular mascot Gritty, writes Jordan Hall for NBC Sports.

The portrait was painted by local artist Benjamin Davis during a recent game that had the orange fella modeling leisurely on a sofa without his Reverse Retro jersey on.

Fans can now enter the sweepstakes to win the resulting painting aptly titled “Gritty Reclined” at FlyersCharities.com.

Fans can pay $10 for three entries, $20 for 10 entries, $50 for 60 entries, and $100 for 200 entries. All proceeds from the sweepstake will benefit Flyers Charities.

The sweepstake launched on Monday and will end the following Monday, March 15, at 11:59 p.m. ET. The winner will be drawn on Tuesday, March 16, at 10 a.m. ET.

Gritty, who seems very fond of the portrait, has asked to keep the painting until the end of the season, after which it will be sent to the winner.
