See Which Montgomery County Public Companies Ranked Among Those Who Added/Lost Most Employees in 2021

One Montgomery County company is among the ten Philadelphia-area public companies that added the most employees in 2021, and one is among those that lost the most employees, writes Ryan Mulligan for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Many Montgomery County publicly traded companies plumped up their workforces as COVID-19 eased and employees returned to work in the office or via hybrid work. And a few revamped their workforce.

To determine companies that gained and lost the most employees, The Business Journal analyzed annual filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission from all public companies in Greater Philadelphia that are worth more than $250 million.

For companies that lost employees, Unisys, an information technology company, came in at #8 Unisys in Blue Bell in Montco on the list. They lost 900 employees, equaling a -5% change. Their total employees are 16,300 currently.

In the list of Philadelphia-area companies that gained employees, AmeriSource Bergen Corp., a drug distribution and consulting company, was #2 on the list of gained 20,000 employees, with a difference of 91%+ new employees. The Conshohocken-based company currently has 42,000 total employees at Sora West.
