Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is on track to open its new inpatient hospital that will be a part of its King of Prussia campus in November, writes Tracey Romero for the Philly Voice.

The new facility will feature a 24/7 pediatric emergency department, an emergency department with 20 beds, and 52 private inpatient rooms. As such, it will provide Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware families with easier access to CHOP’s specialists.

There will be plenty of free parking available for patients and their families. The hospital will also be linked to the current CHOP Specialty and Urgent Care Center in King of Prussia.

The 250,000-square-foot space will feature four operating rooms, a pharmacy, a lab, and a blood bank. It will also have a broader range of pediatric specialties, such as orthopedics, plastic surgery, and ENT.

The pediatric intensive care unit will have 16 beds and it will allow to safely escalate care without having to transfer patients to CHOP’s Main Campus in University City.

The hospital will hire over 400 clinical and non-clinical staff members. It will be easily accessible, easy to park, and the new hospital on the King of Prussia Campus will be connected to their existing Specialty and Urgent Care Center.
