By

Montgomery County Planning Commission and the Montgomery County Commerce Department have released The Quarterly Construction Report, which informs the public on active construction projects throughout Montgomery County.

“Working together, the commerce department and the planning commission are excited to not only provide timely information on the state of development in the county but to also use this opportunity to regularly highlight great projects utilizing economic development assistance,” said Dave Zellers, Director of the Montgomery County Commerce Department.

According to the inaugural report of Construction Projects that covers the first quarter of 2021, 256 multifamily units were completed in this three-month period with an additional 1,888 in some stage of site development.

Also, 37,063 square feet of non-residential development were completed in the same period with over 2.3 million square feet of additional projects currently being worked on.

“These reports indicate that Montgomery County’s housing market is strong, businesses are investing in our county, and our economy is growing,” said Dr. Val Arkoosh, Chair of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners.

The report also includes a map highlight where clusters of new development are located within the county. Currently, the hot spots include Horsham, King of Prussia, and Conshohocken, among other others.
