Annamarie’s Place in Royersford was recently featured on FOX 29’s Good Day Philadelphia as part of its WSFS Bank Small Business Resiliency Program, writes Eric Springer for the WSFS bank.
The program recognizes small businesses in the region that managed to overcome the odds during the pandemic.
Annamarie’s Place is one of four small businesses selected as winners among more than 500 nominations.
The eatery is a Royersford institution that has been a part of the town for the past 26 years.
When the pandemic hit, Annamarie Chestnut immediately knew that her priorities would be her team and the community.
And since her team wanted to work, she pivoted from a breakfast and lunch establishment to a takeout restaurant that served all meals.
Since she had never served dinner before, she bought food and supplies from other restaurants that were closing, helping them recover some of their money.
Her team also created a Facebook coupon campaign for restaurants and other local businesses that were able to stay open, adopting an “all for one and one for all” approach to dealing with the pandemic.
