Despite coming up short when it comes to acting and singing, Ambler Mayor Jeanne Sorg has bravely taken to the stage as part of Act II Playhouse’s “He-e-e-er’s Tony!” show, writes Rita Charleston for the Chestnut Hill Local.

This send-up of the late Johnny Carson’s talk show is the final presentation of Ambler playhouse’s 2020-2021 season. The show is currently available to watch and will stream through the end of July.

A brainchild of Tony Braithwaite, Act II’s production is an unscripted late-night television talk show that features full-length guest interviews.

Through the season, guests have included Philadelphia-based actor Rob McClure, musical guest Gianna Yanelli, and as a special treat, the Honorable Jeanne Sorg, Mayor of Amble.

Sorg was elected Mayor of Ambler in 2013 and reelected four years later. She is once again seeking reelection this year.

“And this time, although I am a Democrat, I’m being endorsed by both Democrats and Republicans alike,” she said proudly. “That makes me feel very proud knowing that the people of Ambler believe I’m doing a good job for them.”
