Fortune 500 Ranks Four Montco Companies for 2021, Including One in Top Ten

Montgomery County made a strong showing in the latest Fortune 500 rankings, with four companies making the list and one making the top ten, writes Ryan Sharrow for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The Fortune 500 ranks publicly traded companies based on their annual revenue.

Conshohocken-based AmerisourceBergen ranked highest in the county and the region, jumping two spots compared to last year to land in eighth place. The pharmaceutical giant grew its revenue last year by 5.7 percent to $189.9 billion.

Next is Universal Health Services in King of Prussia, which ranked at No. 270. The company saw its revenue increase by 1.6 percent to $11.6 billion. This helped propel it eleven spots over last year.

Meanwhile, Fort Washington-based Toll Brothers landed at No. 411. Despite its revenue declining two percent to $7.1 billion compared with last year. The company had the largest upward movement on the list having improving its standing by 15 places.

Finally, King of Prussia-based UGI came in at No. 436. It recorded a revenue of $6.56 billion, which is a 10.4 percent decrease. As a result, the company slid 13 spots on the list compared with last year.
