A Chinese tea ceremony and a harpist playing pieces from the Games of Thrones series were among the many special details Yong Weng and Kevin Wu chose for their dream wedding at Cairnwood in Bryn Athyn, writes Kristen Schott for Philadelphia Magazine.

Weng and Wu are high-school sweethearts who have been together since 2006.

The wedding took place in the season of blooming flowers when the air is fresh and light.

Their ceremony revolved around a complementing esthetic – from the pastel color palette to the beautiful historic setting.

The wedding was on June 15, 2019. The pair made sure to honor both their American and Chinese cultures by incorporating the aspects of both into their big day.

And to add a humorous note, they hired a caricaturist to draw funny sketches of the guests.

However the Chinese tea ceremony held another special meaning for Yong as a way to honor her grandparents.

“We understood that it was more than just offering our elders tea,” she said. “It was the ultimate sign of respect; it showed our gratitude for all the love and support and symbolized the joining of our families.”
