Haverford College is among the top ten small colleges in the Northeast, according to a new report from The Wall Street Journal.

The ranking is based on 15 key metrics across four main categories. These included student outcomes, academic resources, student engagement, and environment. Schools that have fewer than 3,000 undergraduates are considered small for this ranking.

Haverford College ranked sixth among the top small colleges in the Northeast and at No. 40 in the overall national ranking.

The school came highest overall in resources, landing at No. 33. In outcomes, Swarthmore College placed in No. 52, while ranking No. 247 for the environment.

The liberal arts school was lowest in engagement, failing to break into the top 400.

Haverford has 1,374 students and a student to faculty ratio of eight to one. Tuition and fees cost $54,592, while room and board cost $16,402.

Meanwhile, Bryn Mawr College placed in the top twenty small colleges in the Northeast and No. 66 overall. The school had its best showing in resources, coming in at No. 49.
