The Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation is one of the co-founders of a new rail bike experience that takes cyclists into the beautiful forests of the Secret Valley, across bridges, and following creeks, all the while taking in the wonders of local flora and fauna, writes Lisa Mitchell for The Pottstown Mercury.

Colebrookdale Railroad’s Secret Valley Rail Bike Explorers Program is co-financed by a grant from the Community Conservation Partnerships Program.

“Our partnership with Colebrookdale Railroad and their Rail Bike Explorers Program will provide a unique chance for people of all ages and abilities to appreciate the natural beauty of our region in an active and engaging way,” said Dave Kraybill, President of the Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation.

The program is the first of its kind in the state. It offers a unique way to experience Colebrookdale Railroad and utilizes the rail bike program to increase the education, health, and quality of life of all community members.

“Riding a rail-bike is a unique experience and a great family activity,” said Sylvia Landis, rail bike sponsor and retired school teacher.
