Gary Hendler, of Ardmore, woke up on Wednesday to discover he was one of 73 people former President Donald Trump pardoned on his final day in office, according to a staff report from CBS3 Philly.
Hendler applied for the pardon for a drug-related crime he committed in the 1980s.
“I did a double-take,” he said. “I had to look at it a couple times and I felt like, I believe, it would feel if you hit the lottery. It was unbelievable!”
Hendler, who now owns a real estate business, has been helping others recover from addiction since his conviction.
