Blue Pearl Café, the new vegan restaurant in Ardmore, is helping its customers reach their health goals, writes Hadas Kuznits for the KYW Newsradio.

The establishment’s owner, FJ Leto, previously founded Juice Dr. also in Ardmore.

“We mainly do a direct-to-consumer subscription service,” he said. “We deliver fresh juices all over the Philadelphia area. We deliver cleanses.”

Now, those drinks will also be on offer at the new café.

Leto is one of the few entrepreneurs to brave starting a new business amid the pandemic. He decided to make the move as demand for his subscription-based drinks has been increasing in the last few months. This is mainly due to people realizing being healthy and strengthening their immune system is more important now than ever.

With this latest endeavor, he aims to help people eat well. And the secret to healthy eating, he explained, is rather simple.

“Eat the rainbow of fruits and vegetables,” he said. “Some of our juices have seven servings of vegetables in them. That would be tough for someone to eat over the whole day, and it’s 40 calories.”
