When Ardé Osteria closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, management took the opportunity to update the décor and rebrand the Wayne restaurant as Alessandro’s and is now open to guests for dinner.

Named as the moniker of its Sicilian American Executive Chef, Alex Fiorello, Alessandro’s serves a modern take on traditional Italian cuisine. Chef Alex was born into a family of Italian immigrant chefs and was raised cooking in restaurant kitchens.

Before Chef Alex took over as Executive Chef at Ardé in July 2019, he was executive chef at his father’s restaurant, Fiorello’s Café in West Chester.

“I am passionate about being creative with the food I serve people,” said Chef Alex. “I’m very passionate about my pizza and how I make it, and just the whole industry.”

“My vision is to create an experience which is personalized to each guest, which captures the energy and culture of Philadelphia and Wayne, with the freshest and highest quality local ingredients. Our pizzas, whole fish, meats and fresh bread will be cooked in a wood fired oven.”

In following social distancing guidelines, Alessandro’s will seat 20 guests indoors and 20 guests outside on the sidewalk.

Alessandro’s is open for dine in or takeout Tuesday-Thursday from 4:30 to 9:00, Friday-Sunday 4:30-10:00, and is closed on Mondays. Alessandro’s also offers Happy Hour specials on appetizers and cocktails during the week.
