Village Handcrafted Cabinetry in Lansdale, which custom designs, builds, finishes, and installs all of their cabinets, recently showed its capabilities with a special surround project, writes Karl D. Forth for the Woodworking Network.

The company focuses on mid- to high-end residential cabinetry and has a full in-house finishing lab. It can also do color matching so clients often bring them on for challenging finishing jobs.

Village Handcrafted Cabinetry recently worked on a tricky cabinet project in Chestnut Hill that required creating a surround around the main oven and the smaller countertop ovens.

“We couldn’t just put that in a cabinet for fire safety concerns, so we built the cabinets to be able to have the material she used on her countertops, Dekton, clad at the interior of a pocket door cabinet for her small ovens as well as on the surround around the range,” said Damian Hoffman, marketing manager.

The company then built a hidden passage door that looks like a cabinet and leads from the kitchen to the theater room.

This and other additions have created a modern kitchen that perfectly matches the client’s Chestnut Hill home.
