Montgomery County August 27th COVID-19 Update: 40 New Cases, Zero Deaths

Yet another record breaking highest daily increase in COVID-19 cases statewide, wherein Montgomery County has reported over 300 new positives.

Based on the information found on the county’s COVID-19 website, here is a snapshot of the spread of coronavirus across Montgomery County.

Since Tuesday’s update, Montgomery County reported 40 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday afternoon.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Montgomery County reported 292 new coronavirus infections over the previous seven days, a decrease of 6 cases.

Montgomery County’s 14-day count trend continued to tick upward.

The county reported 590 news cases over the last two weeks, 49 more cases than were reported during the previous 14 day period.

The 40 new positive cases reported Monday, pushed the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Montgomery County to 10,642 countywide.

Of the 10,642 COVID cases, 5,602 are females and 4,976 are males.

The average age of individuals with COVID-19 across the county is 48.9 years-old.

Montgomery County’s COVID-19 death toll remained steady at 826 individuals.

COVID-19 Testing

Montgomery County’s walk-up testing sites and operations are:

Pottstown – Montgomery County Office of Public Health, 364 King Street. Testing is available:Montgomery County’s walk-up testing sites and operations are:

    • Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from noon to 2 p.m.
    • Tuesday/Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Lansdale – 421 Main Street. Testing is available:

    • Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
    • Tuesday/Thursday from noon to 2 p.m.

Willow Grove – Montgomery County Office of Public Health, 102 York Road (this site will be moving). Testing is available:

    • Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from noon to 2 p.m.
    • Tuesday/Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Green Lane – Deep Creek and Snyder Road. Testing is available:

    • Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
    • Tuesday/Thursday from noon to 2 p.m.

Ardmore – 114 W. Lancaster Ave. Testing is available:

    • Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
    • Tuesday/Thursday from noon to 2 p.m.

Norristown – Delaware Valley Community Health Center at the Norristown Regional Health Center at 1401 Dekalb Street.

COVID-19 contact tracing efforts are ongoing and are critical to slowing the spread of the disease. The County has partnered with ACLAMO, Family Services of Montgomery County, Montgomery County OIC, and Visiting Nurses Association Community Services to help with contact tracing efforts.

Individuals who have been tested or identified as a direct contact of an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19 and has received a call from any of our community partners may return the call to 610.278.5923 to find out their results or status. All information discussed on the call is strictly confidential and is only used to trace COVID-19 cases.
