Hobart’s Run has awarded fifteen COVID-19 emergency assistance grants and is looking for additional matching funds to expand the program’s scope.

Pottstown’s Hobart’s Run has awarded fifteen COVID-19 emergency assistance grants and is now looking for additional matching funds to expand the program’s scope.

The grants were awarded to ten local nonprofits and five recently opened small businesses. The organization did not turn away any of the first-round applicants, most of whom wrote in their applications how they are already busy working on paying it forward by helping others in Pottstown.

The nonprofits were awarded $500 each while the small businesses were awarded $1,000 each. Hobart’s Run was able to meet all requests for grants thanks to the help of Sitko Tree Farm in Pottstown and Jason Ingle, co-founder of Closed Loop Capital and Greener Partners.

If matching funds are raised, Hobart’s Run will offer a second round of funding. This would include small, established Pottstown businesses that have previously demonstrated philanthropic contributions to the community and which support the overall economic development of the borough.

Those who would like to contribute to Hobart’s Run COVID-19 response fund can do so by using PayPal or sending a check made out to The Hill School and earmarked “Hobart’s Run COVID-19 response” to Hobart’s Run c/o 860 Beech St., Pottstown, PA  19464.
