Earlier this month, Greater Philadelphia Pet Expo returned once again to Expo Center at Oaks with all its staple activities that delight pet lovers everywhere, writes Gary Puleo for The Times Herald.

During the three days, visitors got to enjoy the popular Dog Lovers Day Lure Course along with the Rabbit Hopping and Guinea Pig Agility events. Many also found their next best furry friend thanks to rescue groups that had animals available for adoption.

“All of these things are very popular and people like to have them back,” said Karen Garetano of Family Pet Shows, who produces the show with her husband, Dennis, and son, Joe.

And while there were no new attractions this year, last year’s debutante butterflies were back to delight the crowd. The cat show also returned for the third year in a row.

“We continue all the things we’ve brought here and try to expand on them a bit,” said Garetano.

The event featured pet vendors, a hands-on-petting zoo, and educational and entertaining performances and managed to attract over 15,000 attendees.
