The Foundation also presented its prestigious “Woman of Distinction” award to Tamala Edwards, co-anchor of Action News Mornings at channel 6ABC.

Edwards was recognized not just for leadership in her field, but also for her dedication to serving and improving the community.

Meanwhile, the Foundation’s “Critical Impact Award” was presented to Nanette and Kary LaFors. The pair were honored for their efforts in alleviating food insecurity in Montgomery County through Advocates Against Hunger and working with Living Waters for the World to bring clean water to developing areas worldwide.
