Montgomery County will soon be getting a new Justice Center that will for the first time in a very long time house all the Court Divisions, court filing offices, and Family Court Masters together, writes Denise S. Vicario, Esq. for the Sidebar Magazine.

Plans for the new center campus in Norristown came from a collaboration between the Montgomery County Courts, Montgomery County leadership, and Montgomery Bar Association.

Each feature has been well-designed to ensure that every bit of space is maximized. It is based on marrying the historic courthouse and courthouse annex with the new justice center section.

In addition, the campus will have a memorial garden and plenty of open green space.

The campus will feature 460,000 square feet of building space, with 295,000 square feet being new space.

To clear the way for the construction, the Courthouse Plaza area and the Wells Fargo Bank on Main Street will be demolished.

Once the project is finalized in 2025, the historic courthouse and annex section will include eight renovated courtrooms, while the new Justice Center section will have 18 courtrooms.
