A Norristown firm has prepared a plan to rehab a park in Pottstown that is now up for a Brownfields designation. Brownfields are usually reserved for former industrial sites, but in this instance Pollock Park, a former scrape yard, is now being considered a hazardous waste site.

The borough acquired the park in 1979, and the park-upgrade project began in March 2016 after the Pottstown Area Health and Wellness Foundation and the Pottstown Metropolitan Regional Planning Commission awarded the borough a $27,500 grant, writes Holly Herman for readingeagle.com.
