If you ask PJM Interconnection employees, being known as one of the top adoption-friendly companies in the nation is a well-deserved honor for PJM.

Gilbertsville’s Sean McNamara, a director at IT Business Solutions at PJM, embraced the company’s philosophy when adopting his daughter four years ago. The girl has been with the family since birth, and was adopted by McNamara and his wife Kristen when she was five to join their two sons.

“Having the PJM adoption benefits was a blessing to our family,“ said McNamara. “Our daughter has enriched our lives and family. We are grateful for the PJM benefit and the help we received from the company.”

The Valley Forge company has been recognized by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption for the eleventh consecutive year. The foundation compiles the rankings for the Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces award based on their adoption benefits, including financial reimbursement for the costs and paid adoption leave.

“PJM is built on a culture of caring that extends throughout our community and to our employees and their families,” said Nora Swimm, senior vice president of Corporate Client Services. “We are truly honored to be recognized for the 11th time.”
