A new visionary park is coming to King of Prussia thanks to a partnership between King of Prussia District and Upper Merion Township, writes Eric Goldstein for Philadelphia Business Journal.

KOP-BID and the township came together two years ago to begin work on a 2.6 mile linear park on First Avenue. The idea came after KoP Business Park’s zoning was changed to mixed-use. The resulting park will transform private lawn areas from N. Gulph Road to Allendale Road, into a unified public space.

This is the latest step in transforming the area along First Avenue into a vibrant and inviting neighborhood. Over 20 key partners, including local and state government and private property owners, are helping move the project forward.

Groundbreaking on the first phase, a 450-foot demonstration project at 650 Park Avenue, was in May this year with the next phase expected to be complete by early 2019.

“This project is a proactive response to the changing preferences of commercial property owners, tenants and their employees that are located in suburban office parks,” said Goldstein, Executive Director of the King of Prussia District.
