Wyncote’s Globo, the online translation services provider, has found success from having a diverse customer base that includes anyone from hospital patients to gamers, writes Diane Mastrull for Philly.com.

Montgomery County entrepreneur Gene Schriver, started Globo from his Meadowbrook home seven years ago. Since then, the company has moved into its Wyncote headquarters and now has $10 million in annual revenue.

The Globo HQ platform makes it possible for people that speak different languages to easily communicate. When designing it, Schriver thought it would be a perfect fit for the health-care industry. However over the years, it has proved useful in many other niche fields such as mobile gaming.

The company also offers several additional services such as real-time data, analytics, and insights which are aimed at helping customers “use language support or language data to drive revenue.”

The Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia has also sought out Globo’s help in trying to reach more international visitors. And while Globo has not made any international sales efforts until now, the company plans to change this next year.

According to the firm’s chief executive, language translation “is a largely untapped market globally.”
