By

You’re invited to the 5th annual evening with Emily’s Entourage Gala this December 3 at 7pm at the Moulin at Sherman Mills.  Headquartered in Merion Station, Emily’s Entourage funds innovative research in precision medicine at top academic institutions and fosters collaboration between leading scientists, doctors, institutions, and industry.

Emily’s Entourage has motivated the scientific community to focus on accelerating therapeutics and a cure for nonsense mutations of Cystic Fibrosis, including hosting scientific symposia that bring together experts in this area from around the world. Emily has donated millions of her own cells for research and is an internationally recognized speaker and patient advocate.

So what’s the big deal? Although prevalence of nonsense mutations is rare among those with Cystic Fibrosis, these genetic defects account for one-third of all genetic diseases, meaning an advance in this area could potentially benefit not only patients with Cystic Fibrosis, but also patients suffering from many different diseases.

“Emily’s Entourage has raised nearly $2 million dollars since 2011 and it’s all a testament to the power and passion of our unstoppable Entourage. I have been moved beyond words by how the community has rallied behind the cause and propelled our audacious mission beyond our wildest dreams. The greatest gift in the world has been the honor of experiencing this incredible side of humanity,” beams Emily Kramer-Golinkoff, co-founder of the non-profit.
