Nurses at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center have voted 189-129 in favor of joining the Pennsylvania Association of Staff Nurses and Allied Professionals, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The western Montgomery County hospital’s 347 nurses are the fifth group of nurses to join PASNAP so far this year.

“Nurses and other healthcare professionals are clearly sending the message that their hospital’s priorities, and resources, must shift immediately to the bedside and to patient care,” said Bill Cruice, executive director of PASNAP.

PASNAP represents close to 8,000 nurses and allied health professionals statewide.

In response to the vote, the hospital stated that “we are committed to continuing in a productive, mutually beneficial, and respectful relationship with all of our employees.”
