King of Prussia’s Universal Health Services has bought Desert View Regional Medical Hospital in Pahrump, Nevada, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Close to the Nevada-California border, the 25-bed hospital will add to Universal Health Services’ existing portfolio of six acute-care hospitals that it currently operates in Las Vegas. It also owns and manages Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks, Nevada.

The purchase price has not been disclosed.

“This acquisition reflects our focused efforts to invest and expand in our existing markets, and will complement the opening of our newest hospital in Henderson, Nevada, later this year,” said Alan B. Miller, UHS’s Chairman and CEO.
