Based on the information found on state and county’s COVID-19 website and the Commissioner’s Sunday afternoon press release, here is a snapshot of the spread of coronavirus across Montgomery County, the Delaware Valley and Pennsylvania.
As of 10:00 AM Sunday morning, Montgomery County reported 116 new COVID-19, down from the 201 new cases reported Saturday.
The 116 new cases, 75 of which were females, came from 35 municipalities and range in age from 19 to 98 years-old and fall in the following age brackets:
- 0 to 9 – 3
- 10 to 19 – 1
- 20 to 29 – 9
- 30 to 39 – 15
- 40 to 49 – 9
- 50 to 59 – 25
- 60 to 69 – 14
- 70 to 79 – 15
- 80 to 89 – 14
- 90 to 99 – 14
- 100 to 109 – 0
The 116 new positive cases brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 2,739 countywide.
Of those 2,793 confirmed cases, 1,251 are male, 1,459 are female.
The average age of individuals with COVID-19 across the county is 55.2 years-old with the youngest patient being a 1-month-old baby and a 110 year-old Abington man, the oldest.
Sixtyone of the county’s 62 municipalities are home to at least one individual with a positive COVID-19 diagnosis.
Of those 61 municipalities, only one, Bryn Athyn Borough in the county’s southeast corner, reports zero cases of COVID-19.
Four of the County’s 62 municipalities – Lower Merion (285), Springfield (219), Cheltenham (214) and Abington (198), account for 916 (32.8%) of the positive cases countywide.

The County continues to monitor the 75 Department of Health certified long-term care centers and approximately 550 congregant care facilities across Montgomery County for instances of COVID-19.
Of the 930 cases reported at these centers through Friday morning, 607 were residents and the balance, 323 cases, were of staff members of the care facility.
As of Friday, 79 of those facilities have the following number of residents or staff with COVID-19:
- 44 facilities with 1 to 5 cases
- 14 facilities with 6 to 10 cases
- 6 facilities with 11 to 15 cases
- 2 facilities with 16 to 20 cases
- 0 facilities with 21 to 25 cases
- 1 facility with 26 to 30 cases
- 5 facilities with 31 to 35 cases
- 3 facilities with 36 to 40 cases
- 5 facilities with 41 to 45 cases
- 1 facility with 56 to 60 cases
- 1 facility with 71 to 75 cases
Eight new coronavirus related death of individuals ranging in age from 71 to 89 years-old, all females, were reported in Montgomery County on Saturday.
Saturday’s deaths move the county’s COVID-19 death toll to 155.
Eighty six (55.5%) of Montgomery County’s 155 COVID-19 deaths are in five municipalities; Springfield Township (33), Upper Gwynedd Township (19), Upper Providence (13), Abington (11), and Lower Gwynedd (10).
The county’s COVID-19 death toll of 155 is 13.9% of the 1,112 deaths attributed to the coronavirus statewide.
The County’s 2,739 COVID-19 cases represent 8.5-percent of the 32,284 confirmed positive COVID-19 cases across Pennsylvania.
By comparison, as of noon Sunday when the state updated their coronavirus count, with the exception of Philadelphia County with 8,764 COVID-19 positive cases and 240 deaths, neighboring and surrounding counties all report fewer positive coronavirus cases and deaths than Montgomery County’s tally:
