Tired Hands Brewing has turned its Ardmore Brewing Company into a private event space as the beer company’s owner navigates its future, writes Denali Sagner for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The company recently closed its Kennett Square taproom and bottle shop, and owner Jean Broillet confirmed that Beer Park in Newtown Square will not return this summer as the property is set for redevelopment. The company’s other locations, Ardmore Fermentaria and Fishtown restaurant St. Oner’s, remain open, with its seasonal operation MT. Airy Biergarten is reopening this spring.
Broillet said several factors led to the decision to switch the Ardmore Brewing Company location to private events, including confusion of having two Tired Hands locations in Ardmore, the ongoing construction creating a “prohibitive environment” for business, and a changing brewing landscape.
When Tired Hands first opened in 2012, Ardmore had limited high-quality food and drink offerings. Today, the town has become a culinary destination on the Main Line.
Ardmore “went from zero to 60 really quickly in terms of dining and entertainment options, said Broillet.
Although he is uncertain about the future, Broillet added that Ardmore Brewing Company will reopen to the public in some form.
