A rising Main Line restaurateur is bringing a fresh concept to Bryn Mawr Village, according to Michael Klein for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Alessandro “Alex” Fiorello is preparing to open a bar-forward Italian restaurant at 915 Lancaster Ave., replacing the recently closed Il Fiore.
The Bryn Mawr location previously housed Marc Vetri’s short-lived Fiore Rosso before transitioning to Il Fiore. Fiorello plans to retain much of the space’s existing industrial look, noting that its solid infrastructure should allow for a relatively quick turnaround.
The new restaurant will represent the most elevated tier of Fiorello’s growing suburban portfolio. His Wayne-based Alessandro’s Wood Fired Italian, opened in 2020, blends upscale dining with a strong neighborhood following. Alessandro’s Pizzeria serves a more casual lunch-and-slice crowd. The Bryn Mawr concept is designed to be a step up, with a stronger emphasis on the bar and evening scene.
Italian cuisine will anchor the menu, featuring house-made pastas, wood-fired pizzas, and a live-fire grill. Plans also include dry-aged proteins using on-site aging refrigerators, along with subtle Japanese influences that could introduce a small number of sushi-style items.
Fiorello, who grew up in a family of restaurateurs in Brooklyn and Chester County, says the goal is a space that feels approachable yet refined.
