Jenkintown’s Bradley Cooper Celebrates a Year of Cheesesteaks

Jenkintown native Bradley Cooper celebrated Danny & Coop’s one-year anniversary with a cheesesteak-filled visit to Good Morning America.

Jenkintown native Bradley Cooper celebrated a major milestone for his New York City cheesesteak spot, Danny & Coop’s, writes Sabrina Weiss for People Magazine.

The actor stopped by Good Morning America to mark the restaurant’s one-year anniversary, making sure no one on set went hungry.

Cooper opened Danny & Coop’s in January 2025 with Danny DiGiampietro, owner of South Philly favorite Angelo’s Pizzeria. The pair surprised GMA anchors with boxes of cheesesteaks, joking that they learned their lesson after not bringing enough food during a previous visit.

The reaction was immediate. Anchors praised the sandwiches as some of the best they’d ever had, with Michael Strahan and George Stephanopoulos joking that their comments might get them “kicked out of Philadelphia.” Cooper laughed along, leaning into the playful Philly pride that helped make the moment go viral.

Beyond the banter, Cooper used the appearance to highlight the workers behind the counter, thanking Danny & Coop’s staff and calling DiGiampietro “the maestro.” DiGiampietro returned the favor, crediting Cooper for the restaurant’s success and noting the actor’s hands-on approach — from cooking and cleaning to being the first one in and last one out.

The partnership began with a Danny & Coop’s food truck in late 2023 and has since grown into a buzzy Manhattan destination.
