This Charming Conshohocken B&B Has Been Welcoming Guests Since 1882

In an 1882 Conshohocken mansion, The Willough Bed & Breakfast offers curated stays, historic charm, and “unreasonable hospitality.”

Tucked into a quiet Conshohocken neighborhood just steps from Mary Wood Park, The Willough Bed + Breakfast feels less like a hotel and more like being welcomed into a beautifully kept historic home.

Owner MJ Paschall reopened the five-room inn in November, bringing four decades of hospitality experience to a building that has anchored this corner of Conshy since 1882.

A bottle of wine sits on a table with wine glasses in a private room at The Willough Bed + Breakfast.

The house was originally built by industrialist Allen Wood of the Allen Wood Steel Company at a time when the mills and factories along the river powered the region’s growth.

Long before it became a bed and breakfast, families who worked in those industries filled the surrounding streets. That sense of rootedness still lingers.

Vintage maps, black-and-white photos of old Conshohocken, and framed pieces from local Coll’s Custom Framing line the walls. This little touch gives guests a visual tour of the borough’s industrial past.

Inside, the inn’s rich woodwork, cozy parlors, and well-loved piano set the tone. Each of the five guest rooms has its own private bath, a nod to modern comfort in a Victorian footprint.

Paschall talks about offering “unreasonable hospitality,” and it shows in the details. Guests receive a personal phone call after booking. A chef-crafted breakfast menu is sent in advance, and wine and charcuterie are presented where they’ll feel most at ease.

Evenings might mean gathering with other guests over a glass of wine, swapping stories in the parlor, or curling up with a book while the house settles around you.

Mornings begin with a plated breakfast prepared by a chef, pairing dishes with coffee, tea, or juice.

Step outside and you’re a short walk from Conshohocken’s restaurants, trails, and river views. Still, The Willough still feels tucked away.

For guests, the experience is intimate, curated, and local. It’s a chance to wake up inside Conshohocken history while feeling genuinely looked after.
