Montco’s Top High School Hoopers Are Ready for a State Title Run

Montco basketball talent is front and center this season, with Hill School and Plymouth-Whitemarsh stars eyeing PIAA glory.

As the PIAA boys’ basketball season ramps up, Montgomery County programs are once again producing players capable of influencing the state title conversation, writes Joseph Santoliquito for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

At The Hill School in Pottstown, senior guard Ethan Johnston enters the season as one of the region’s most complete players. The 6-foot-7 Marquette commit has surpassed the 1,000-point mark in his career and continues to evolve physically and skill-wise. Known for his vision and unselfish play, Johnston can impact games across the stat sheet and take over when needed.

Meanwhile, Plymouth-Whitemarsh’s Mani Sajid remains one of the most dangerous scoring guards in southeastern Pennsylvania. The Towson-bound senior averaged 19 points per game last season and combines elite shooting with an explosive first step. His length allows him to score over bigger defenders, and his improving three-point consistency makes him a constant matchup problem.

Just outside Montco, Haverford School’s Silas Graham continues to draw attention as a rising junior, but it’s Johnston and Sajid who anchor Montgomery County’s strong presence in the PIAA spotlight. With multiple contenders returning statewide, Montco fans should expect another exciting winter on the hardwood.
