The Buttery Brings Fresh Bakes and Coffee to Ardmore Farmers Market

The Buttery opens October 4 at Ardmore Farmers Market, serving pastries, sandwiches, and coffee made fresh daily in Norristown.

Ardmore’s dining scene is about to get a little sweeter, writes Max Bennett for Patch.

The Buttery, a café known for its artisanal breads and pastries, is opening at the Ardmore Farmers Market in Suburban Square. Doors officially open on October 4, but guests can get an early taste during a soft opening from October 1–3.

To celebrate, the first 100 customers who purchase on October 4 and 5 will receive one of The Buttery’s beloved sable cookies. The new spot will serve fresh coffee, scratch-made pastries, sourdough bread, bagels, and sandwiches seven days a week. On the menu: buttery croissants, flaky scones, and crowd favorites like the ham and brie baguette. New offerings include chicken katsu and a pastrami Reuben. These entries will give the Ardmore location its own flavor.

While Ardmore will be the newest face of the brand, the heart of The Buttery’s baking has long been in Montgomery County. Its Norristown Bakehouse supplies the breads, pastries, and savory items that anchor the café’s reputation. Coffee lovers will find handcrafted brews made with Lancaster’s Passenger Coffee.

Founded in 2015 by John and Silenia Rhoads in Malvern, The Buttery is marking its 10-year anniversary with this opening — and hinting at more regional growth ahead.
