Norristown’s Cavan Sullivan Helps Union II to Playoff Spot

Norristown’s Cavan Sullivan, 15, made two assists to lift Union II into the playoffs, showcasing why he’s one of U.S. soccer’s top prospects.

Norristown native Cavan Sullivan continues to show why he’s one of the most exciting young talents in U.S. soccer, writes Alex Labidou for Goal.

The 15-year-old phenom delivered two key assists on Monday, helping the Philadelphia Union II secure a 2-1 win over FC Cincinnati II. The victory clinched a playoff spot in MLS Next Pro.

Sullivan’s first moment came in minute 20, when he lofted a curling cross into the box that connected with Neil Pierre for the opening goal. Seventeen minutes later, Sullivan showcased his vision and creativity again, driving down the right side on a counterattack before threading a perfectly timed ball to Eddy Davis III. Davis then buried the decisive strike.

This summer has been a landmark season for Sullivan. Alongside his contributions at Subaru Park, he has also trained and competed with Manchester City’s youth squads. This was a glimpse of where his career may take him once he turns 18.

The Philadelpia Union homegrown midfielder has already logged 10 MLS appearances this season, including one start with the senior club. His rapid development underscores why he is considered one of the brightest prospects in soccer.
