Beloved New Jersey taco joint, Tacoria Mexican Street Kitchen, is setting its sights on Montgomery County, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
Following a warm reception at its South Jersey locations, including a soon-to-open Cherry Hill spot, Tacoria’s founders are looking to the Philadelphia region. They have their eyes on communities like Conshohocken, King of Prussia, Willow Grove, and the Main Line.
Co-founder Chuck Patel says the areas mirror Tacoria’s best-performing markets in Jersey: “Really strong communities. Good trade areas.”
The Mexican kitchen originally launched in New Brunswick in 2016 by Rutgers grads Chuck and his brother Vishal. The growing chain mow includes 11 restaurants across New Jersey. The Cherry Hill location opens in August and marks the first of five more Jersey spots planned this year. Once the doors open, site selection in Montco and the greater Philadelphia region is expected to ramp up quickly.
Tacoria’s menu feature house-made Mexican staples like tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. They also have signature items like nacho pies and a Nutella Nacho dessert. Each location typically spans 1,500 to 1,800 square feet. The owners are looking for walkable locations with heavy daytime foot traffic for their restaurants.
