What began in the basement of a Norristown home has transformed into one of Montgomery County’s most state-of-the-art dog care facilities. Bark U, now located in a sprawling complex in King of Prussia, offers a level of attention, safety, and comfort that’s redefining expectations for pet parents.
Founded by Christine Egbert, Bark U moved to its new facility last year. The upgraded space includes indoor and outdoor play areas, enrichment rooms, water parks, and even VIP dog suites with toddler-sized beds, DogTV, and nightly turn-down service.

The space is spotless, odor-free, and infused with lavender. At night, dogs rest to the sounds of classical music or reggae. But beyond the bells and whistles, what sets Bark U apart is its heart.
Every dog undergoes a temperament assessment before joining playgroups, ensuring their personality—not just size—guides placement. Certified trainers are on staff, and safety is prioritized. Bark U employs collar-free play zones and coyote rollers on fences. Staff is on-premise 24/7, including overnight care, which means the dogs are never alone.

In every room and hallway, the facility is filled with wagging tails, playful pups, and joyful reunions. For dog lovers, it’s not just a care center—it’s a happy, heartwarming sight.
“People tour our space and say it’s better than therapy,” joked Beth Keeley, Bark U’s Chief of Business Development.
Bark U even offers door-to-door bus service, fetching pups from local homes for daycare or boarding stays.
Whether it’s group play, grooming, training, or simply a cuddle session in their enrichment program, Bark U is for pet owners who know that every dog deserves more than just the bare minimum.
