Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery and Delaware Counties to Open One of the Nation’s Largest ReStores

Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery and Delaware Counties announced plans to open one of the nation's largest ReStore locations in North Wales.

Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery and Delaware Counties is bringing the thrift store experience back to North Wales.

The nonprofit signed a lease at the location of the old 2nd Avenue Thrift Store and will open a brand-new expanded Habitat for Humanity ReStore to the 1200 Welsh Road location.

The existing ReStore located at 533 Foundry Road, West Norriton, will remain open and recently underwent its own expansion.

This new ReStore is going to be one of the largest of its kind in the entire country, designed to be a vibrant new pillar of the community – far more than just another thrift store. Habitat for Humanity almost doubled the size of the former 2nd Avenue store, expanding the footprint to include not one, but two storefronts! This will allow for a significantly broader selection of high-quality items, including building materials, furniture, household goods, books, media, electronics, appliances, clothing, and so much more.

The new location marks a bold new direction under new leadership that previously built one of the largest ReStore operations in the country and has joined the affiliate team with a clear mission: to expand affordable homeownership and home repair opportunities right here in the community. Habitat for Humanity’s passion for thrift and community service will guide them in creating a truly world-class thrifting experience.

Get ready for some big changes! Significant construction will soon be underway to transform the space. This includes knocking down walls to combine areas, upgrading lighting and ceiling grids, installing a dedicated and convenient drop-off and pickup area in the back, and completely replacing and upgrading the floor.

In the meantime, they will be actively hiring and looking for volunteer support to help build this incredible new venture, and locals can anticipate more information on these developments through their social media and website. Most importantly, the success of this ReStore will rely on the community’s generous donations and support to stock shelves.

“Get ready for a vibrant new chapter in thrifting and community support,” said a spokesperson from the nonprofit. “We can’t wait to welcome you.”

Stay tuned for grand opening details! Habitat for Humanity will share more details about our grand opening timing once construction nears completion, but they anticipate a Fall 2025 opening.

Habitat MontDelco ReStore relies on generous donations of new and gently used household items, building supplies, and furniture to help Habitat create homeownership opportunities in your community.

In addition to residential donations, we also partner with corporations and can scale to meet any business need through our expanded network of Restores. All donations are tax-deductible.

To arrange a pickup of a donation, visit Habitat for Humanity or call 610-631-3149.
