As the home of historic Valley Forge, it’s no wonder that Montgomery County is a great place to celebrate Independence Day.

From firework displays and parades to carnivals and historic reenactments, and even free zoo admission, there are so many fun and family-friendly 4th of July events to choose from that reflect the patriotism and spirit of each local Montco community.

Conshohocken | Jul. 3

Celebrate the Fourth of July with an epic fireworks display visible throughout Conshohocken Borough on Thursday, Jul. 3. This year’s show starts at dusk (around 9:30 PM) and will be large enough to be seen from most vantage points within the borough. Due to safety precautions, Sutcliffe Park and the surrounding areas will be closed during the fireworks.

Skippack | Jul. 4

Parade: 11:00 AM

BBQ at Parc Bistro: 3:00 PM

Fireworks: At dusk

Head to historic Skippack Village for some classic Independence Day festivities, including a parade, sparklers, BBQ, fireworks, and more!

Note: Fireworks parking is available for $10 per car, cash only. Proceeds benefit the Special Events Program.

Ambler | Jul. 1-6

Wissahickon High School

  • Carnival: Jul. 1-6 | 6-10:00 PM daily
  • Fireworks: Wednesday, Jul. 2 (rain date: Jul. 3)

Support the Ambler Kiwanis Club and celebrate all week long with carnival rides, games, classic treats, and one of the area’s best fireworks shows on Jul. 2.

King of Prussia (Upper Merion) | Jul. 4

Heuser Park | 3-10:00 PM

Kick off the celebration at 4:30 PM with food vendors like 2 Street Sammies, Cousins Maine Lobster, KOG Hill Winery, and more. Enjoy live music by Plush starting at 5:00 PM, followed by a spectacular fireworks show around 9:15 PM.

Limited parking is available at Heuser Park. Additional parking and all vehicle traffic after 3:00 PM will be directed to the Phucas Center. Handicap parking is available at both locations.

Dog policy: Leashed dogs are welcome, but it’s advised they leave before the fireworks begin.

Narberth | Jul. 4

Narberth Park

  • Daytime Events: 10:00 AM-1:30 PM
  • Evening Events: 6:30-10:00 PM

Start your day with field games like a pie-eating contest and a dunk tank, then come back in the evening for food trucks, a concert, and fireworks.

Valley Forge National Historical Park | Jul. 4

Celebrate Independence Day in historic fashion! Walk in the footsteps of General Washington and the Continental Army. Enjoy:

  • Readings of the Declaration of Independence
  • Family-friendly programming
  • Museum access at the Visitor Center

Patriotic 5K & Parade

  • Rotary Parade: 10:15 AM | Adams to Manatawny Streets

GoFourth Fest: 3-9:30 PM | High Street (York to Penn)
Enjoy live music, a kids’ zone, food trucks, a beer garden, vendors, and more.

Fireworks Show: 9:30 PM

Eagleville | Jul. 4

Eagleville Park

  • DJ: 7:30 PM
  • Fireworks: At dusk (rain date: Saturday, Jul. 5)

Enjoy music and a fantastic fireworks finale in this lively community celebration.

Glenside | Jul. 4

  • Children’s Programming: 10:00 AM | Renninger Memorial Park
  • Parade: 4:00 PM | Downtown Glenside (Parade Route)
  • Fireworks: After dark | Abington Jr. & Sr. High Schools (Parking Info)

Enjoy a full day of patriotic fun, including a morning kids’ program, a grand parade, and a stunning aerial fireworks show to cap it off.

Norristown | Jul. 4

Norristown 4th of July Celebration

  • Parade: 10:00 AM | From St. Francis Church to Harding Blvd.
  • Party in the Park: 3:00 PM | Elmwood Park Band Stand
  • Fireworks: ~9:30 PM | Elmwood Park (Parking Info)

Bring the family to Norristown for the annual parade and party in the park! The parade will feature bands, drumlines, and more as they make their way to Elmwood Park for a celebratory Independence Day party. Enjoy live music, food, and tons of family fun in Elmwood Park all day long until the fireworks finale at dusk.

Elmwood Park Zoo | Jul. 4

Join Elmwood Park Zoo for an unforgettable Independence Day celebration with free admission (advance registration is required for free admission) for all guests. Enjoy live music, unique animal guests, special appearances by historical impersonators, and more. The Zoo will be open extended hours until 8:00 PM!
