Step into the Ambler basement of Pam Biasi and you’ll find more than just nostalgia, writes Erica Lamberg for the Philadelphia Inquirer.
You’ll find a full-blown tribute to the golden era of new wave music. The lifelong fan has spent over 40 years collecting posters, backstage passes, vinyl, and rare memorabilia. She even has a guitar played at Live Aid Philly 1985. For Biasi, this isn’t just a hobby—it’s her personal time capsule.
Biasi, 57, traces it all back to August 1981, when MTV first hit cable. “MTV forever changed my life,” she said. British bands like the Thompson Twins and Adam & the Ants became her soundtrack, and she’s never looked back.
Today, her finished basement houses nearly 800 items, not counting her record collection. It’s a carefully curated space filled with framed posters, RIAA gold records, drumsticks, promo kits, ticket stubs, and concert programs. Her most prized piece? The guitar played by Tom Bailey during his Live Aid performance with Madonna and Nile Rodgers—now autographed and on display in her living room.
Known to fellow fans and even the musicians themselves, Biasi has spent decades attending shows, including international trips to see her favorite acts.
