Well-known West Chester restaurateur Speer Madanat is ready for a new venture, writes Francesca Giangiulio for Main Line Today.
Besides his affinity for pizza and cheesesteaks, Speer Madanat is opening his third business by May 12 and is basing it on his childhood love of vanilla ice cream. The window of the shop is decorated with little ice cream cones.
Ice Cream West Chester will embrace the pure flavors of this sweet dessert.
“I love ice cream because I love simple. I love simple flavors,” said Madanat. “I’m picky with ice cream. I want to taste the milk. I don’t care too much about how sweet it is, because I think once you add all the sweetness to it, it removes that freshness of milk.”
Ice Cream West Chester will be reminiscent of Kohr Bros, with four flavors of soft serve. Two will be permanent, two will be rotating.
Don’t worry – everyone will be able to enjoy the ice cream at Madanat’s new spot, with dairy free, gluten free, and nut free options available.
Pints of ice cream will be available at each of his shops, Pizza and Steaks. They will house their own exclusive flavors.
