The owner of Pizza West Chester has opened Steaks West Chester just a few blocks away from his original site.

Speer Madanat, owner of West Chester’s quirkiest pizza parlor, has recently branched out with sandwiches by opening a new cheesesteak shop, writes Michael Klein for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Two years ago, Madanat opened the door of Pizza West Chester, a pizzeria that just sells three types of pizza, only for walk-ins, only for cash, and at odd hours that can only be discovered on Instagram. There was no phone or email to reach the shop and the website is still in the “coming soon” stage.

Madanat knew he had a product that could carry itself. Customers and critics alike loved the crispy, well-cooked 16-inchers.

Last week, he decided to expand his empire with a shop on the outskirts of town. Steaks West Chester offers cheesesteaks and chicken cheesesteaks only, plus fries. He is planning to expand the menu in the future with wings, hoagies, and more.

As with his pizzas, Madanat is making sure to use only the best ingredients, including commissioning West Chester bakery La Baguette Magique — owned by renowned chef Anthony Andiario — to make his rolls.

Unlike his pizza shop, Steaks West Chester has regular hours and customers can order by phone.
