David’s Bridal, the nation’s largest bridal retailer headquartered in King of Prussia, is strategically scaling down, writes Kelsey Vlamis for Business Insider.
The company is launching Diamonds & Pearls, a boutique-style concept aimed at Gen Z brides seeking luxury without losing affordability.
The first location opens this week in Delray Beach, Florida, with a second to follow later this year. The new shop is a more intimate, high-end experience: think velvet furniture, marble accents, and a champagne-in-hand vibe. CEO Kelly Cook says the store is a response to younger brides who value both style and personalization.
Unlike the cavernous layout of a traditional David’s Bridal, Diamonds & Pearls keeps things tight and curated—just 2,000 square feet and roughly one-third of the usual inventory. It’s also the only place where brides can try on couture dresses from names like Marchesa and Viola Chan. Price tags range from $500 to $5,000, with quicker turnaround times thanks to David’s in-house manufacturing.
Interactive screens and an AI planner named Pearl add a tech-forward touch. Despite filing for bankruptcy in 2023, the company is betting big on Gen Z’s luxury leanings—and has identified up to 100 markets for potential expansion.
