American Airlines has opened two new lounges this week at Philadelphia International Airport in time to attract summer travel season passengers, writes Andrew McCarty for Men’s Journal.
A “25,000 square-foot oasis” opens May 21 in the A-West Terminal, according to an American Airlines release.
The lounges are open to eligible AAdvantage members, qualifying Oneworld members, and customers traveling in premium cabins on qualifying same-day flights, according to the announcement.
“We are excited to welcome our customers into American’s newest preflight experience with the opening of our brand-new Flagship and Admirals Club lounges in the A-West terminal,” Heather Garboden, American’s Chief Customer Officer, said in a statement.
At the Flagship Lounge, customers receive a complimentary glass of champagne and access to six spa-style showers, a variety of seating options, and panoramic runway views.
Chef Randy Rucker, a James Beard Award Semifinalist, provides a unique-to-Philadelphia a la carte dining experience, which can be ordered via QR code.
Over at the Admirals Club lounge, there are curated self-service offerings, specialty Don Francisco coffee, a full-service bar, and a kids’ area.
American Airlines is also launching five inaugural routes out of Philadelphia, including flights to Milan and Edinburgh, Scotland, which begin May 23.
