East Greenville’s own Sabrina Carpenter is leveling up as the latest pop star to join the wildly popular Fortnite universe, writes Emily Bloch for the Philadelphia Inquirer.
The “Espresso” singer made her video game debut last week as a featured artist and playable character in Fortnite Festival Season 8, a music-centric spin-off of the global gaming sensation.
Not just a background soundtrack, Carpenter takes center stage with in-game performances of her hits like “Juno” and “Nonsense”, plus two avatar “skins” modeled after her Short n’ Sweet tour looks. Players can now battle it out — or just vibe — dressed as Sabrina, complete with signature emotes and tour-inspired accessories.
But fans aren’t just playing to win. Instead, they’re dancing, forming makeshift bands, and sharing TikToks of Sabrina-only squads breaking into coordinated routines mid-match. Even Fortnite’s official channels are leaning in, calling the new “dance-related stalemates” part of the fun.
Carpenter, who admitted she hadn’t played Fortnite before the collab, called it a creative way to connect with fans who couldn’t make it to her tour. And clearly, fans agree — because Fortnite is now full of Sabrinas just having a good time.
The Season 8 Music Pass is available through June 17 and unlocks 30 exclusive rewards.
