Conshohocken-based IKEA Looking to Add Eight New Format Stores Before Year’s End

IKEA, with its U.S. headquarters in Conshohocken, is planning on adding eight new format stores before the end of the year.

IKEA, the Swedish furniture giant with its U.S. headquarters in Conshohocken, is planning on adding eight new format stores before the end of the year, writes Thomas Lester for Furniture Today.

In the past five years, the company has seen its United States market increase by 13.6 percent. With the new stores, which will include seven Plan & order points and one Pick-up place, the furniture maker is building on its $2.2 billion investment in omnichannel growth.

Of the seven Plan & order points, one will open in Pennsylvania, in Cherry Hill; three are planned for California; and one each for Maryland, Oregon, and Arizona. The final location, a Pick-up point, will open in Santa Monica, California.

In addition to announcing the new stores, IKEA U.S. shared some 2024 Annual Summary highlights, focusing on how the company has continued to prioritize its customers in innovative ways.

“Our strategy continues to prioritize our customer’s needs, and in FY24, we continued to make everyday living more accessible, especially during a time when we know economic challenges are leading to a decrease in disposable income for many Americans,” said CEO and Chief Sustainability Officer Javier Quiñones.
