Montgomery County Community College (MCCC) is seeking applications for the following positions: Student Services Assistant, Nursing Simulation Lab Manager, Grants Manager, and Nursing Instructor/Assistant Professor – Pediatric and
Maternal/Child Health (Fall/Summer Contract).

Student Services Assistant

The Student Services Assistant is responsible for providing support to both new and returning students at the College as part of the College’s mission of access, retention, and completion, with responsibility for ensuring a high level of customer service through support of the Student Services Resource Center, duties at the Student Services Welcome Desk, support of the Enrollment Services Assistants, and providing support in the Testing Center. Hours are Monday-Thursday, 2:00-7:00 PM, Friday 12:00-5:00 PM, and Saturdays as needed.

* This position has college-wide responsibilities and requires travel between all campuses and off-site locations. The primary office location will be the Blue Bell campus.
**This position has been approved for a flexible work option arrangement. Flexible work options can be ended at any time by the College, Cabinet, and/or supervisors based on employee performance and/or as institutional needs change.

Essential Education, Training, Skills, and Work Experience:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required with three years of work-related experience or an associate’s degree may be preferred with one to two years of work-related experience.
  • Proficiency in computer skills required.
  • Excellent communication, both written and oral required.
  • Specialized training in specific software or processes may be required.
  • Customer-service skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.

Nursing Simulation Lab Manager

This position assists the Director of Nursing in the leadership and management of the Nursing Simulation Skills Suite (NSSS). The Nursing Simulation Lab Manager has primary responsibilities in the areas of the nursing admissions processes, clinical agency clearances, and Nursing Simulation and Skills Suite. This position reports to the Director of Nursing and requires the PA Child Abuse, PA State Police, and FBI Fingerprinting clearances to be submitted to human resources prior to the first day of employment.

Essential Education, Training, Skills, and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing required, master’s preferred.
  • Commitment to the incorporation of information literacy, technology, writing, and diversity in the curriculum.
  • A minimum of two years of related experience in a healthcare office or hospital administration. This experience should include inventory management, equipment maintenance, scheduling, and project management.
  • Current registration as a professional nurse in good standing with the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
  • Experience in nursing practice is required.
  • Experience with nursing-specialized accreditation and development of accreditation documents is preferred.
  • Knowledge of contemporary educational practices and standards including, but not limited to, the use of alternative delivery systems, instructional techniques, and distance learning modalities.

Grants Manager

This position is responsible for managing a portfolio of public and private grants from pre-award to close-out. The Manager is responsible for identifying grant opportunities, managing grant submissions, tracking grants in assigned portfolios, managing timelines and deadlines, managing close-out processes, and ensuring compliance with reporting, contracts, regulations, laws, and standards. This individual collaborates with internal and external partners to ensure alignment with grant guidelines. The Grants Manager maintains ongoing collaboration with related offices to support successful grant implementation. A key function of this role is supporting various federally funded grants and will serve as the primary point of contact with agency Program Officers. This role reports to the Director of Grants.

Essential Education, Training, Skills, and Work Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree in higher education administration, business, or another related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of demonstrated success in public and private grants administration is required, preferably in a community college setting, including evidence of successful grant applications and awards.
  • Demonstrated experience working with grant identification, acquisition, and proposal writing.
  • Demonstrated experience working with grant management and administration, project management and evaluation, fiscal management, and contract compliance.
  • Ability to identify funding opportunities to advance the College’s strategic agenda.
  • Ability to interpret simple and complex demographic and statistical information.
  • Strong software skills for electronic tracking, prospect research, and electronic grant submission and compliance requirements.
  • Superior writing, organizational, and communications skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to understand and monitor grant guidelines, regulations, and requirements to explain institutional processes and procedures and report to College partners.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and tact in all interpersonal contacts, and to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks according to required deadlines.
  • Sensitivity to cultural diversity and ability to communicate and interact effectively with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds.

Nursing Instructor/Assistant Professor — Pediatric and Maternal/Child Health (Fall/Summer Contract)

Faculty teach assigned courses in a manner that facilitates student learning and mastery of course material in nursing
with a focus on specialty nursing areas to include one or more of the following — pediatric and maternal/child health along with the ability to teach fundamentals and basic medical/surgical nursing. Faculty also participate in course and curriculum development, management, program and course assessment, student advisement, college service, and professional development. This position holds full-time hours on a fall-summer academic year contract and reports to the Director of Nursing.

**This position will have college-wide teaching responsibilities. The primary office location will be the Blue Bell campus.

Essential Education, Training, Skills, and Work Experience:

  • A master’s degree, or its equivalent, in an appropriate discipline from an accredited institution is required. A doctorate or terminal professional degree is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduates of all abilities. Community College teaching experience is preferred.
  • Exhibited evidence of continued professional growth and development.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the use of innovative instructional techniques and technologies and the use of course management systems.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the use of a variety of teaching activities to address diverse learning styles.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the incorporation of information literacy resources, technology, research, writing, and culturally diverse perspectives into the curriculum.
  • Knowledge of competency-based education is preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continual assessment of the teaching-learning process.
  • Demonstrated commitment to work with diverse populations, such as under-resourced groups and first-generation students.
  • Specialty certifications and/or CNE preferred.
  • Current non-encumbered licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Clinical expertise in nursing with a focus on pediatrics and maternal/child health is required, and experience in basic medical/surgical nursing and the ability to teach fundamentals of nursing are preferred.
