Victus Sports is the Hometown Bat Behind Phillies’ Red October

King of Prussia's Victus Sports is making customized bats for some of the Phillies and expects to see their equipment in the World Series.

Next year, King of Prussia’s Victus Sports will become an official bat supplier for Major League Baseball, writes Neil Fischer for NBC Philadelphia. Still, they aren’t waiting to get in on the action. This Red October, Phillies stars are already swinging their bats.

This season, the King of Prussia company produced around 120,000 bats, but with the new MLB partnership, it plans to craft 150,000 bats next year.

Founded by Jared Smith, Victus Sports has become a favorite among MLB players, with 30% of the league’s athletes using their bats. Phillies players Bryce Harper, Brandon Marsh, Bryson Stott, Alec Bohm, and more are among those who rely on Victus bats for their game.

One standout feature of Victus is its ability to personalize bats. Thousands of player profiles are stored in its machines, allowing athletes to choose custom specifications.

The company also creates unique designs, thanks to Bruce “Bat King” Tatem, whose airbrushed masterpieces include special postseason-themed bats for the Phillies. His “Pencil Bat,” inspired by his son, has become a fan favorite.

With the postseason in full swing, Victus is booming.“Getting to wake up every day, come to work and do something fun like this, making baseball bats, like making a difference in the game, especially in October, this place gets buzzing,” Smith said.

The company is confident its bats will see action throughout the playoffs, with marketing director Doug Trimble saying, “We’re pretty confident to say that we’ll have some Victus athletes in the World Series.”
