The North Penn School District has appointed a new Director of Facilities and Operations, William Slawter, reports Dan Sokil for The Reporter.
Slawter will officially start in December. The school board’s decision was unanimous, announced by Superintendent Todd Bauer during the October 17 board meeting. Slawter, already well-known within the district, previously worked as the project construction manager for major renovations to Crawford Stadium and Knapp Elementary between 2020 and 2022. His detailed monthly updates on project progress, safety, and change orders made him a familiar face to the district community.
Slawter brings extensive experience to his new role. He previously served as Facilities Manager for Central Bucks School District from 2005 to 2017 and worked in private sector roles. He succeeds Tom Schneider, who will retire in March 2025, after managing the district’s pandemic response and overseeing key facility projects like Crawford Stadium and Knapp renovations. This overlap ensures a smooth transition in leadership.
Slawter’s annual prorated salary is set at approximately $181,000. Bauer hinted at upcoming projects, saying, “There are some projects on the horizon.” Board VP Christian Fusco added, “We’ll fill you in.” The school board scheduled the next meeting for November 12, and the facilities committee will meet on October 28.
