Bagels & Co. Spreads into the Main Line with New Ardmore Location
Bagels & Co., a rapidly expanding concept by Glu Hospitality, is opening its first Main Line location in Ardmore next week, reports Lisa Dukart for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The new outpost, located at 43 Cricket Ave., will open its doors on Thursday, marking the ninth overall location for the brand and its first in the Philadelphia suburbs.
Launched in 2021 amid the pandemic, Bagels & Co. has quickly grown to six locations within Philadelphia and two in Florida, with more on the horizon. The brand plans to expand with new locations in South Philadelphia and on the campuses of Penn State University, Florida State University, and the University of Florida. Earlier this year, it also opened a spot at Temple University.
The Ardmore location will be the largest Bagels & Co. store yet, spanning 2,500 square feet. To celebrate the opening, the shop will host a grand opening event on Thursday morning from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., offering free bagels to the first 100 customers. Regular hours will be from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
Derek Gibbons, co-owner of Glu Hospitality, explained that customer demand drove the decision to expand into Ardmore, noting that the area’s dining scene is “red hot.”
Bagels & Co. is renowned for its Brooklyn-style bagels, a variety of cream cheese and spreads, and its range of breakfast and lunch items, including breakfast sandwiches, baked goods, smoothies, salads, and coffee.
Beyond Bagels & Co., Glu Hospitality operates several popular Philadelphia dining spots, including Figo Italian, Izakaya Fishtown, 1225 Raw, and Sushi by Bou.
