Spring-Ford quarterback Matt Zollers, Pennsylvania’s top-rated passer who is committed to Missouri, recently signed several name, image, and likeness deals, writes Aaron Carter for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
“It feels pretty cool, obviously, because not many kids get to experience this,” said Matt Zollers. “It’s almost surreal because I never expected this to happen.”
Zollers’s first NIL deal was with Leaf Trading Cards. Earlier this month, he also announced a deal with Westwood Home Services. The local handyman service provided him with a Dodge Challenger.
The deal was partly struck “in exchange for commercial appearances and social media collaborations,” said the athlete’s agent, Joe Gazza of Aurum Sports.
With all these deals, Zollers’ team is making sure to keep him focused.
“The car, the NIL is huge right now because it’s such a timing thing, but we’re trying to just insulate him from much of it so he can just focus on playing football,” said his father, Pete.
This week, Zollers has been competing at the prestigious Elite 11 finals in Los Angeles. The invite-only showcase features 20 of the best senior quarterback prospects nationwide.
